Welcome to the Cultural Connector Initiative
The Cultural Connector Initiative (CCI) is built on the belief that meaningful change begins with relationships.
CCI works alongside African Nova Scotian children, youth, families, and communities to build trust, strengthen connections, and create opportunities where people feel welcomed, heard, and supported. By listening, learning, and working together, CCI helps connect people with resources, strengthens partnerships, and creates opportunities that celebrate culture and community.
Working collaboratively with schools, community organizations, businesses, municipalities, service providers, faith communities, and other partners, CCI brings people together to share knowledge, strengthen relationships, and identify opportunities for collaboration that support stronger, more connected communities.
At its heart, CCI connects people, strengthens relationships, and creates opportunities for communities to thrive. Through relationship-building, community engagement, and collaboration, CCI helps strengthen the connections that support thriving African Nova Scotian children, youth, families, and communities.

Building Our Stories is creating a permanent collection that celebrates Black voices, African Nova Scotian heritage, history, culture, and lived experiences, while inviting the community to help build a lasting resource for future generations.
